Background
Mower Doctor is a division of a large publicly traded corporation, specializing in repairs of powered tools and equipment products. Mower Doctor continues to add product categories in the electrical and mechanical areas such as power tools, air compressors, generators, paint sprayers, bench top woodworking saws, and nail guns. In addition, Mower Doctor is into Lawn & Garden products such as riding mowers, tractors, mowers, trimmers, edger’s, tillers, pressure washers, blowers, and chain saws. There is significant demand for small engine expertise on Briggs & Stratton, Honda, Kawasaki, Tecumseh, Kohler engines and electric motors.
Qualifications and Responsibilities
The candidate must have own tools, be trained and proficient at repairing all major engine and motor manufacturers. (Certification preferred) Further training from the OEM may be required from time to time on major product categories. In addition, the individual must be familiar with tracking and achieving daily performance targets for unit output and revenues. This person will assist in the management of parts inventory, placing parts orders, and receiving shipments. They will also help monitor repair quality, product appearance standards, reboxing of product, supplying manuals, etc. Working knowledge of administrative functions such as creating work orders, invoicing parts and labor, and researching information from a computer terminal will also be required. Finally, the individual will assist in training and mentoring less experienced mechanics.
Class B or helper mechanics will still need some knowledge and own tools, we will teach the rest.
